The Bachelor

Artistic Direction

By adopting a pragmatic, demanding and responsible approach, CREA is halfway between teaching and a ‘real-world’ professional approach. Here, art direction is serious business! Surrounded by creative and communications professionals, students spend 3 exciting years learning how to develop communication ideas and concepts, discover graphic design, perfect their photography and image retouching skills, produce videos, think about applications and UX design, and immerse themselves in the world of branding. It’s all about becoming passionate!

Generation Z, your generation, is in the process of radically changing the way work is organised and conducted. We’re paying close attention.

This valuable observation forces us to refine our teaching philosophy and distance ourselves from academicism. Your teachers – experts who are active in the market – quickly become mentors who guide you and share their experience with you. They’ll help you to do things that are creative, relevant and in step with another revolution: the digital world.

Do-It-Together. You often work in groups, in a spirit of collaboration.

This is your chance to join a passionate community, ready to take on challenges with commitment and pleasure. Your career path will be enriched by a network of Swiss and international companies and experts who work alongside us, and by an openness to the world thanks to study trips or a semester on a partner campus abroad. Our Sustainable Education strategy embarks all CREAtors on an adventure where innovation is combined with social and environmental responsibility.

Compulsory pre-commencement: Wednesday 17 September 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Classes start: Monday 22 September 2025 at 9.15 a.m.

180 ECTS credits

CREA is a dynamic school where creation and practice are central to our studies. What’s more, it’s a bit like a big family.

Entrance exam

After receiving the admission contract and all the documents requested by CREA management, the candidate receives instructions for the entrance test. This test is to be taken on an adapted platform and consists of 4 parts.

1. Making a “self-portrait” video about yourself, to help us understand who you are.

Objective: Discover your universe, what motivates and drives you. At this level, technique is of little importance. It may give us an idea of your audiovisual knowledge, but it’s not part of the evaluation criteria.

2. Completion of a project based on a brief given by CREA

Objective: To assess your creativity and your ability to tackle a new problem.

3. Presentation of a personal portfolio of various personal creations

Objective: To discover your creative potential and current knowledge (graphic design, photography, illustration, knowledge of graphics software, etc.).

4. Oral interview with 2 experts (members of the management team)

Objective: get to know you; understand your motivation and expectations

If the student fails this online entrance exam, an interview with a special decision-making committee will be scheduled. The candidate’s enrolment at CREA becomes definitive after the full admission session, including the online entrance exam.

ECTS credits

We award them to our Bachelors and Masters students. These qualifications are recognized by professional associations and CREA’s partner companies, but do not constitute a state diploma.

They are nevertheless awarded by a private school and strictly comply with the procedures laid down in the Bologna agreements. ECTS credits are at the origin of the system for quantifying studies (face-to-face courses, research work, personal work, etc.)

The Bachelors we award total 180 ECTS credits; and 120 ECTS credits for the Masters. Collaboration agreements with other institutes or professional associations in Europe enable our students to join other training courses, particularly for post-graduate studies.
